What is gongsu?

• •Gongsu is the unit for one day's pay. A regular full day = 1 gongsu.
• •Every 2 hours of overtime adds +0.5, so overtime counts as 1.5, night as 2, and all-night as 2.5.
• •Pre-tax monthly pay = total gongsu × day rate.

What about taxes?

• •Taxes depend on your employment type. For day laborers, up to 150,000 KRW per day is tax-free, and the excess has about 2.97% (incl. local tax) withheld.
• •The common 3.3% applies to business income (freelancers). If you're enrolled in the four major insurances, premiums are deducted separately.
• •Your exact take-home depends on the site and contract, so this calculator shows the pre-tax (gross) amount only.
